Another Sporting & Action filled week-end is behind us and I have no clue where to begin...! Lets start with the LOW point of the past week-end. PROTEAS vs ENGLAND...
I played cricket and have been watching Cricket for about 30+ years now and I have seen this happen so many times before. A low bouncing and spinning pitch like the one SA and England played on can be so unpredictable that even a low score like England's 171 can be defended. I agree that South Africa have only themselves to blame, because there were several times during the match that I thought we were in control and that we would take it home surely. The turning point I felt was when we lost three wickets with the score on 124. De Villiers, Du Plessis and Duminy's wickets at that stage cost us the game...!
The only positive to me was again our bowling and fielding, which was excellent and the fact that we lost this game now, and not in a possible semi-final. Hopefully the guys learned from this heartbreaking defeat?
SUPER 15 RUGBY:
With the Lions losing another close one on Friday against the Blues, the week-end's Super 15 fixtures kicked off for our SA teams.
The Sharks made us proud with an emphatic win over the Western Force in Australia. This was followed by another lackluster and error-filled match between two SA teams, the Stormers and the Cheetahs. These are my favourite teams to watch because of the attacking rugby they normally exhibit, but there is no way you can play that kind of rugby when you knock every second ball or keep losing possession in tackles the way they did on Saturday...!
The Stormers did, for the second time in a row, manage to win the match, but they have a lot of work ahead of themselves, especially with the Highlanders on their way to Cape Town for the clash on Friday night at Newlands.
The Highlanders produced the 'shock result' of the week-end by beating the Blue Bulls in their own backyard on Saturday. This surely must be a wake-up call for the Bulls, who did not at all look in form or at their best.
PRO 20 Semi-Finals:
Mark Boucher steered the Warriors home to a great thrilling victory against the Dolphins on Friday night, hitting the winning runs off the very last ball, which secured their place in the Finals against either the Cobras or the Titans. These two teams will meet each other in Pretoria on Wednesday night for the second leg of their semi-final encounter, with the Cobras leading 1-0.

Kuyt hat-trick stuns United
2011-03-06 20:31Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt's hat-trick has dealt a body blow to Manchester United's English Premiership title hope
What a great game of soccer we witnessed on Sunday, with Liverpool in excellent form and beating log leaders Manchester United. This second loss in a row for Man United means that Arsenal becomes more of a threat in second place.
