SUPER BOWL XLV: 2 Days and 15 hours to go...!

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual edition of the Super Bowl in American football, and the 41st annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL). The game, to be played on February 6, 2011, will pit the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers against the NFC champion Green Bay Packers to decide the NFL champion for the 2010 season.

The game will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the Dallas–Fort Worth area; and the third time it will be held in Texas (Houston was the host city to VIII and XXXVIII). Kickoff time is approximately 5:25pm CST (UTC-06). This will be the eighth appearance in the Super Bowl for the Steelers (who hold the record with six Super Bowl wins) and the fifth for the Packers (who hold the record with 12 overall NFL titles, including three Super Bowl wins and nine league titles prior to the Super Bowl-era). This will be the fourth time that two pre-expansion era (pre 1960) teams meet in the Super Bowl (XIV, XLI, and XLIII).

As of February 2, the Packers are two to three point favorites,^[2] making this the first Super Bowl in which the Steelers were underdogs since Super Bowl XXX. In all four previous Super Bowls that Green Bay played in, they were favored to win.

 A record Super Bowl crowd of about 105 000 people is expected to attend the February 6 championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, NFL officials said on Thursday.


That total, however, includes 5 000 people who will pay $200 each to watch the spectacle on giant television screens outside $1.3 billion Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said.


The stadium will seat 95 000 spectators, including those in luxury suites, and another 5 000 members of the NFL staff or media.
If expectations are met, the throng in and around the stadium could exceed the population of Green Bay, Wisconsin - a north-central US city of about 104 000 people whose gridiron love predates the formation of the NFL.


The standing record Super Bowl attendance of 103 985 was set in 1980 when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Los Angeles Rams at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, site of the 1994 Soccer World Cup final.

The Jets are Hoping to Meet the Bears. That isn’t to say they are looking past the Steelers but when taking into consideration their previous meetings with the Packers and the Bears, they will be looking to the Bears.

So what’s the reason they will be looking for the Bears. One reason: shutout. The last time they faced Dom Capers and his blitz heavy 3-4 defense the Jets could not get into the end zone. While the Bears beat them, they were able to put up points against Chicago’s tough defense. The Jets know that Cutler gets rattled by pressure and they know they can give him fits in the right package. They will be looking for Chicago if they reach the house that Jerry built.
