With our new spinning sensation making a dream debut by taking 4 wickets for only 41 runs, Tahir could not have asked for more. He made his mark in this years World Cup and is sure to be the no. 1 choice spin bowler with Johan Botha.
AB de Villiers again showed his class by keeping behind the wickets for 48 overs and then coming out with SA somewhat in trouble, to end up top scoring with a brilliantly played 107* from 105 balls faced. He and Tahir together will get my 'Man of the Match' vote. Both of them played a pivotal role in this opening win for the Proteas. Captain Smith also made sure he stayed in for the majority of the SA innings and he also used and rotated his bowlers with distinction during the West Indies innings. WELL DONE boys...that was majic to watch!
