STORMERS RUGBY: Gio Aplon 'onder mes'...?

It has been reported that Stormers and Springbok speedster, Gio Aplon, went to the hospital for a 'precautionary' athroscopy on his knee yesterday. Coach Alistair Coetzee is confident that all will be fine with his knee and that Aplon will be ready to play in the Stormers opening match vs the Lions.

According to this detailed explanation from http://en.wikipedia.org it is a minor procedure performed mainly to determine what, if anything, is really wrong with the knee...

Arthroscopy (also called arthroscopic surgery) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which an examination and sometimes treatment of damage of the interior of a joint is performed using an arthroscope, a type of endoscope that is inserted into the joint through a small incision. Arthroscopic procedures can be performed either to evaluate or to treat many orthopedic conditions including torn floating cartilage, torn surface cartilage, ACL reconstruction, and trimming damaged cartilage.
