Steve Waugh, former captain and an OLD School-solid and gutsy cricketer from Australia, says without hesitation that he backs South Africa as the team to win this years Cricket World Cup in the sub-continent.
His one main reason for stating this is the fact that South Africa is under no real pressure, according to him. He feels India's local support will put unnecessary pressure on their team, which could count against them in the end.
He feels that Australia also has little pressure on them and could be the surprise semi-final contenders. I have to agree with him on that fact, because the Aussies have always been up for the BIG matches in the past and they are unbeaten in World Cups for 12 years now! Impressive I should think?
