It was reported that Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to bat, something I predicted both captains would do after winning the toss. The team batting first always has an advantage at Newlands. Batting at night is never easy when chasing a very competitive score. South Africa, with debut-ant Faf du Plessis included in the team and who I expect will bat at number six, in place of David Miller, was the only change to the team who lost by one run on Sunday.
