RUGBY: AT LAST - Basson & Ralapelle hear their fate...!

Springboks Bjorn Basson and Chiliboy Ralepelle will be heaving a sigh of relief after they both were exonerated of wrongdoing after testing positive for the banned substance methylhexaneamine during last year’s Grand Slam tour.

Both players were given a reprimand, and are immediately available to play after it was found they had taken the substance unintentionally, and through no fault of their own.
The verdict is not only a massive boost to the players and their Super Rugby side, the Vodacom Bulls, but also for the Springboks after the drug cloud hung over their heads since being tested positive.

Both are immediately available to play, and Ralepelle has already been told to pack his bags to rejoin his team-mates as they head to Port Elizabeth for their pre-season friendly with the Southern Kings tomorrow night.
Basson is likely to make his Bulls debut next week against a Premiers XV in Mbombela as the Bulls wrap up their pre-season games before defending their title in the Southern Hemisphere competition.

While a press conference will confirm the result at 10am in Cape Town, SuperSport.com can reveal that the same supplement had been used during the Vodacom Super 14 season and Vodacom Tri Nations tournaments without any positive tests being returned.
The players took the supplement as it was thought to be safe, and had been used before, and were shocked to find that they were tested positive.
The hearing found that the players did as much as could have been expected from them in preventing use of a substance and that they were not at fault.
