Ashes 2013/2014 - Adelaide Oval: Day 2 Report - England In Trouble Again

Dropped catches cost England in Adelaide

Day 2: Stumps, England trail by 535 runs

AUS - 570/9 decl

ENG - 35/1 (21.0 Ovs)

England is already, on Day 2, on the back-foot after they did not take the various chances that came their way during the Australia first innings. Michael Clarke and Haddin was the main destroyers, with both scoring centuries. The Australian captain fell just two runs short of 150 runs, but with his team in a very strong position, he declared his team's score on 570 for 9. It gave the Australian bowlers some 21 overs to blast down at the English openers and it was Mitchell Johnson who striked by bowling te England captain, Cook, for only 3.

Somebody in the England side has to come out and take charge with the bat on Day 3, or they are going to face an uphill road during the remainder of this, the second Ashes test in Adelaide.
